Xcel Energy Continues Support for KidsTek

Denver, CO – KidsTek is thrilled to announce that we once again received support from Xcel Energy in conjunction with our Aurora Youth 4 Success summer program.

Xcel Energy has been funding KidsTek’s Workforce Readiness and College Preparatory classes for the past five years. Three years ago, KidsTek integrated the Aurora Youth 4 Success summer program into its grant request, and have earmarked $5,000 of the $15,000 in grants that we have received for each of the past three years from Xcel for this specific program.

On July 20th, 2015, Xcel Energy proudly presented KidsTek with a new $15,000 check that will allow us to further fund the AY4S program and other related programs that help bring technology education to students who are most at risk of not continuing their education.

State Senator Nancy Todd and her husband, Terry Todd, have been operating the Aurora Youth 4 Success program for 7 years, and KidsTek has been providing the College and Career Exploration portion of the AY4S program all of those years.

Xcel Energy, who has always been a strong supporter of STEM-related workforce and college readiness programs, has demonstrated with this continuing collaboration between two non-profits its deep commitment to the further education and success of Colorado’s most at-risk youths.

KidsTek looks forward to many more years of such collaboration.
