Each year, The Colorado Technology Association puts on an event celebrating women in Colorado’s tech community. This event, called the Women in Technology (WIT) Conference, was held virtually this year and was attended by women from more than 100 different companies. Throughout the event, participants got to hear from and participate in presentations from different speakers, conversations about new technology trends and discussions around opportunities and challenges for women in today’s technology field.
This year, one of the event sponsors was one of KidsTek’s long time partners, Moss Adams LLP. Megan Hodgins, Assurance Senior Manager at Moss Adams and board member at KidsTek, invited a KidsTek staff member to join the conference as a guest. Meghan Lang, KidsTek Program Manager, signed up and joined the other women online for the conference on September 24th and 25th. “Those two days were filled with women informing, encouraging and laughing with one another. It really is such a positive and supportive environment, and I’m glad I could be a part of it.” said Lang.
The final session of the conference was a small group meeting in which Meghan Lang, Megan Hodgins and several other women reflected on the experience and some general themes from throughout the conference. Hodgins shared her enthusiasm about the event, “I’ve attended CTA’s WIT conference for the last several years and always come away feeling energized and inspired after getting to listen to and connect with so many women in the technology industry. There are still far too few women in technology, which is why events like this are so important, enabling those women to connect, support, and encourage each other. This is one of the big reasons Moss Adams is a proud sponsor of the event each year and why we were happy to invite Meghan as our guest.”
