Volunteer of the Year Awarded

During our annual golf tournament’s luncheon this year, we were able to recognize Morgan Sauer as our Volunteer of the Year!

Morgan is a native Coloradan, and grew up doing all things outdoors. She graduated from CU Boulder in 2020 with a degree in integrative physiology and in 2021 from Regis University with a degree in nursing. She currently works as a pediatric ER nurse at a local hospital. Morgan shares that she “really enjoys the mystery of what brings a patient in to the ER along with being a supportive face for families.”

Even though this was Morgan’s first year volunteering with KidsTek, she is no stranger to the organization, in fact, we have known Morgan since she was a child! Morgan is the daughter of Nancy Sauer, a beloved former KidsTek board chair.

The annual scholarship we give is named in memoriam of Nancy. Cindy Miller leads our scholarship committee and says, “Although Morgan is Nancy and Ron’s daughter and grew up around KidsTek, she also comes to KidsTek with her own passion and interest in supporting the kids. She is continuing her mother’s legacy and extending her own as well.”

In addition to volunteering in our classrooms, Morgan served on the scholarship committee this year. Cindy says, “Morgan is very thoughtful and perceptive. These qualities add so much to her value of work with KidsTek. She is a great example of the power of volunteering to other young people. Having young volunteers is important, especially for KidsTek because the students can see that they can “be” her in a few years. Her impact on the kids speaks so much and is so powerful. She is an example and a mentor without even trying to be.”

Congratulations Morgan!
