KidsTek’s June Student of the Month is Tomas Rodriguez, also known as Tommy, from KidsTek’s summer camp at Denver North High School. During this three-week program, Tommy has distinguished himself with his positive attitude, work ethic, and friendly personality.
“Tommy is a ton of fun to have as part of our group!” said Senior Instructor Emily Tow. “He’s always enthusiastic and up for new things, and he’s such a reliable and responsible guy.”
In his free time, Tommy enjoys playing video games and making YouTube videos. After high school, he’s interested in translating that YouTube clout into becoming an entertainer.
During KidsTek High School Summer Camp, students can earn a certification in business ethics through the LIFT program created by the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau Foundation, and also learn important career skills such as résumé writing and job interview skills. “My favorite part of the class is learning about ethics. I didn’t know much about it,” said Tommy.
“Tommy is so respectful and always gives his full effort on whatever we are doing in class. His final presentation for the ethics curriculum we studied was so well thought out and impressive,” said Meghan Lang, KidsTek’s Program Manager.
