KidsTek’s Student of the Month for December is Carla ”Tiny” Guereca-Barragan from North High School. “Tiny is so much fun to have in class! She always has a positive attitude and puts a personal touch into her assignments, even including her own amazing creative writing in assignments demonstrating Microsoft Word skills,” said Senior Instructor Emily Tow. “Tiny is a friendly, creative person who always gives 110%.”
After high school, Tiny is interested in studying nursing. In her free time, she loves to do arts and crafts and free write.
Tiny is a part of KidsTek’s Business Computing class at North. Students focus primarily on learning to use Microsoft Word and Excel, with the opportunity to pursue Specialist-level certifications in each program. In addition, students learn valuable soft skills such as writing strong resumes, how to ace a job interview, and preparing for post-high school education.
“My favorite part about being in this class is learning new things about the computer every day,” said Tiny.
