Here at KidsTek, we are always very proud of the hard work that our teachers and students put into each semester. Recently, we had the opportunity to share all of that hard work with the community at STRIVE Ruby Hill Elementary when after-school coordinator, Maggie McEachern, invited us to share our projects and talk with parents at their student showcase.
Maggie works for the Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation. Through this organization, we are able to serve students at the STRIVE school with our technology education programs. More specifically, we’ve been teaching their elementary students how to use Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel, how to type, and how to work online safely.
During the showcase, many parents and students came by to see what KidsTek is all about. Parents were proud to see the students’ work. One student, Erik, and his mom stuck around at our booth to see the entire slideshow, and Erik introduced us to his brother who will be joining us in the spring semester. His mom was full of questions and took pictures of each of Erik’s projects that popped up on the screen.
It is always KidsTek’s pleasure to share moments like this with the community. We enjoy meeting with parents and showing them how creative their children can be with technology.
