We at KidsTek love to celebrate our students, so it’s no surprise that honoring our scholarship winners is always one of the highlights of our annual golf tournament. After a day out on the links for our 20th annual tournament, golfers reconvened for a luncheon to honor KidsTek’s supporters and our 2022 scholarship winners.
This year, KidsTek presented two scholarships, a main award as well as a runner-up. Both of our winners are students from North High School in Denver who took KidsTek’s Business Computing class in the 21-22 school year. These impressive young men both have a bright future ahead of them!
Evon Quinones is this year’s main ($2500) scholarship recipient. He plans to attend Denver’s Metro State University in the fall and pursue a career in tech. “Evon always has such a positive attitude and brings his all to everything he does. He has an infectious smile that lights up a room and always strives to not only do his best, but to have fun while he does it,” said KidsTek Senior Instructor Emily Tow.
Our runner-up ($1000) scholarship recipient, Sushan Dahal, also plans to attend MSU and will be studying business. “Sushan is a very driven young man with an incredible entrepreneurial spirit,” said Tow. “He not only works at his family’s restaurant, but has also started his own clothing business.”
“Honoring the scholarship winners is always my favorite part of the golf tournament, because I love to brag about how awesome my students are!” said Tow. “The air cannon and the long drive holes are fun, but nothing beats those kids receiving the recognition they so very much deserve.”
