KidsTek has a long-standing and wonderful partnership with the COMPASS after school programs in Aurora. The program, a joint effort between the City of Aurora and Aurora Public Schools, is comprised of 10 elementary, middle, and high school programs housed at 9 Aurora schools. COMPASS programs are managed by the City, but use school employees as after school coordinators at each site. One of these coordinators, Sue Tancrede, is our primary contact and host at Aurora West College Preparatory Academy!
Sue has been a librarian at Aurora West since 1989, and has been a COMPASS Site Coordinator for the past five years. Sue has been a long-time supporter of KidsTek. She is always helpful when it comes to recruiting students into our classes each session and ensures that our KidsTek instructor has all of the tools they need to deliver a quality program. Sue says that “Students who are involved AFTER school are usually the most successful DURING school.”
When Sue isn’t busy making sure the school library and after school programs are running smoothly, she enjoys traveling, the performing arts and spending time with her family. A big thank you to Sue Tancrede and all of the wonderful Aurora COMPASS Site Coordinators for supporting our KidsTek programs.
