Every new school year brings many changes, and it’s no exception at KidsTek! Alyssa Sellwood is passing the baton of her role as Program Manager as she transitions out of KidsTek and into a teaching position at a local school. Emily Tow, formerly KidsTek’s Senior Instructor, will be stepping into the position.
“My time at KidsTek, though short, has been so rewarding. I have loved working with PCs for People and seeing their mission come to fruition, said Alyssa. “Though it feels bittersweet to be leaving, I am so excited for Emily as she transitions into this role! She comes with so much insight, experience, and inside knowledge of all things KidsTek; I know she will do a fantastic job!”
Emily has been with KidsTek since 2016, starting as an after-school instructor with KidsTek’s elementary and middle school programs, then as a high school instructor at North and Florence Crittenton High Schools. “I love working with KidsTek, so I’m very excited about this opportunity to continue to grow with the organization,” said Emily. While we search for her teaching replacement, Emily will continue to teach KidsTek’s Business Computing class at North, while our other high school instructor, Katy Limes, will take over both classes at Florence Crittenton.
“It’s always tough for a teacher to leave the classroom, but the great thing about the Program Manager role is that I still get to be involved in all of our classrooms and with our students,” said Emily. “Katy has done a great job teaching at Hinkley High and our adult classes, and I’m excited to see her put her stamp on our program at FloCrit.”
While we’re sorry to see Alyssa go, we’re sure she will bring her same phenomenal spark to her new school. Congratulations to Alyssa, Katy, and Emily as they all adjust to their new and exciting roles!
