Mia is a sophomore at Hinkley High School, enrolled in KidsTek’s Introduction to Programming class.
Instructor Katy Limes chose to nominate Mia for student of the month for a few reasons, “Mia has really been going the extra mile with online learning. She’s been really proactive about reaching out for help and letting me know when things don’t make sense, and she’s been giving a lot of time to class and making sure that her work turns out right.” Her communication has been especially important while the class completes their school year online.
Since joining the KidsTek class, Mia said, “It has helped me become more social and meet new friends. I have fun chatting online and I am learning new things every day from class.”
Outside of school, Mia enjoys skateboarding and art, but also spending more time learning about computers. After finishing school at Hinkley, Mia wants to go to college and study physiology.
KidsTek Program Manager, Meghan Lang, added, “Mia has really impressed me with her determination and consistency with online learning. We are so grateful to have a hardworking student like Mia in our class!”
Congratulations, Mia!
