Beau Bradley
KidsTek is proud to be back for a second year in Jeffco Public Schools at Pennington Elementary in Wheat Ridge. Pennington offers a wide variety of enrichments for its students, including KidsTek’s program, teaching digital literacy to different groups of students throughout the school year.
Beau Bradley returns to our program from last school year, and is our August student of the month! Beau is a 6th grader, and as he starts his final year in elementary school, he’s excited to be joining KidsTek once again. He says, “I really came back because I like to do new stuff on computers and I want to learn something new.”
Beau is clearly interested in a future career in technology, as demonstrated by his recent interest in building apps. “I was always curious if it cost money to make an app. I looked up some stuff on the Internet, and found an easy way to make an app on a website,” he explained. But building apps isn’t the only job Beau imagines doing when he grows up. “I want to do game coding and build computers. I may want to build computers for the government, because they could help people and they need the best stuff.”
If computer hardware design seems ambitious for an eleven year old, Beau would disagree. In a recent class activity, students were asked to imagine a future technology invention that people 25 years from now might use. Beau described an elaborate future-computer with a built-in tower that is highly portable for convenience.
We love your creativity, Beau, and we always enjoy working with students who are dreaming of the future of tech!
