James is currently wrapping up his junior year at Denver’s Emily Griffith Technical College. James has been in KidsTek classes for the past three years, learning about computer networking. He started with us while at another Denver school, High Tech Early College, and has been a dedicated student.
James was selected as our student of the month because of his hard work in the challenging Cisco networking coursework. He is currently taking these Cisco classes at Westwood College twice a week after school, where he also particiaptes in an internship.
Although the Westwood class and internship are not near his school or home, it’s not stopped James from showing up and giving it his all while he is there. James’ love for technology started with his interest in video games. His favorite subject in school is creative writing, and he’s thinking about applying to the Vancouver Film School or to UC Denver where he wants to major in philosophy, mathematics or theology.
As the school year wraps up, James, and the rest of his KidsTek Cisco class, are preparing to take the CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) certification exam. The CCENT certifies an individual’s ability to install, operate and troubleshoot a computer network, including basic network security.
Keep up the good work, James!
