KidsTek held the 17th Annual Charity Golf Classic at The Highlands Ranch Golf Club this month. After a great day of golf, players attended a luncheon and recognized the two recipients of this year’s Nancy J. Sauer Memorial Scholarship.
Jackie Montero, a recent graduate from North High School, received a $2,000 scholarship to use towards her tuition to at Denver Metro State University. Jackie was unable to accept her award in person, so we played an an audio message where she thanked donors and event attendees for the opportunity to pursue her dream of going to college to study law.
“For me, moving forward with college is one of my greatest goals.,” Jackie said. “Not only does it mean I will be the first in my family to attend a university, but it is also a basis of inspiration for my daughter who looks upon her mother, who despite the obstacles she has faced, has never given up and continues to succeed.” Congrats Jackie!
Stephanie Mendez, recent graduate from Florence Crittenton High School, accepted her $5,000 scholarship and easily won over our crowd with her poised and confident personality. In her comments, Stephanie shared that she plans to study computer programming with dreams of owning her own tech company some day. Stephanie was such a pleasure to have as a student in KidsTek’s inaugural program at Florence Crittenton High, and we are so excited to see what the future has in store her!
