KidsTek Reflects on a Successful Fall Semester

Looking back at the fall semester of the 2016-17 school year, there is much for KidsTek to be proud of.

So far this program year, KidsTek has provided our technology classes to 3 high schools, 6 middle schools and 11 elementary schools in and around the Denver Metro area. Students from Aurora Hinkley High School have started to earn IC3 Digital Literacy certifications, and our Denver North High School students are studying for Microsoft Office Specialist certification exams.

KidsTek strives to provide the tools for long-term academic and career success for our students. In addition to our computer skills program, we provide many additional enrichment opportunities. This semester, KidsTek high school students attended a field trip to FORTRUST data center to further explore computer networking and security. We hosted many classroom speakers, and several of our students who are interested in pursuing medical careers toured St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood to observe a day in the life of a flight nurse.

Recently, our first KidsTek Scholarship winner, Essence Benson, graduated Denver Metro State with a 4.0 GPA! We are proud to support our present and future students in their life endeavors.

We would like to thank everyone who have helped to support KidsTek. All of you make it possible for us to continue to bridge the digital divide. We look forward with great hopes for 2017!

From all of us at KidsTek, we wish you Happy Holidays!
