We are excited to announce that KidsTek recently launched another program at a Denver high school! The Denver School of Innovation and Sustainable Design (DSISD) just began its first year with a pioneering class of 9th grade students. KidsTek and DSISD are an ideal collaboration, as we share the same mission– creating the next generation of leaders by providing them with the skills needed to succeed in the 21st century.
DSISD uses a competency-based model, enabling students and educators to design individualized learning pathways based on each student’s strengths and interests. This approach to learning offers a rigorous curriculum in humanities and STEM-based core classes, and empowers students to take ownership of their education. We believe that our college level classes will help these students to earn the real-world experience and knowledge required of any student preparing for the modern job market.
“DSISD believes a partnership with KidsTek is essential because the critical thinking skills and competency at DSISD must be coupled with the technical knowledge and experiences that KidsTek provides,” says Danny Medved, DSISD’s founding principal. Medved has been a long-time advocate of KidsTek and we have enjoyed working with him for many years.
KidsTek is honored to be a part of this innovative high school and we are looking forward to working at DSISD this school year!
