WorldDenver is a non-profit community organization dedicated to understanding world affairs and cultures. Their mission is to strengthen and expand the community of engaged global citizens and organizations in Colorado through education, cross-cultural exchange, and personal interaction with international leaders, professionals and students. Recently, WorldDenver hosted a delegation from China on a program called “Education and Technology in the U.S.” through their International Visitor Leadership Program. Mary Lou Golden, Homestay Coordinator at WorldDenver, reached out to KidsTek to organize a meeting where the visitors could get an overview of the programs at KidsTek, as well as time for questions and discussion surrounding education and technology in Colorado.
KidsTek Staff Kiki Andriani (Instructor), Meghan Lang (Program Manager), Andrew Bissland (Program Director), and Richard Liner (Executive Director and Board Chair) attended to lead the meeting. The meeting began with a presentation about the basics of KidsTek by Program Director, Andrew Bissland. Through this presentation, the visitors learned about specifics in KidsTek programs at all levels- Elementary, Middle and High School. After the presentation, delegates asked many wonderful questions pertaining to KidsTek programs, logistics and results. In addition to questions about KidsTek programs, there was also an important discussion centering around STEM education in the United States and how it has evolved over the years. KidsTek was honored to host a wonderful group of visitors from China. Thanks to World Denver for including us in this enriching experience!
