104 players. 130 attendees. 3 scholarships. KidsTek’s 18th annual golf tournament last week brought supporters from all over the Denver metro area to the Highlands Ranch Golf Club for a day of fun, fundraising, and celebration.
“The golf tournament isn’t just a fun way to raise money to help our programs thrive, it’s also a great opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of our scholarship winners,” said Senior Instructor Emily Tow. Lina Contreras and Devon Martinez, scholarship recipients from Florence Crittenton High School and North High School, respectively, received recognition at the tournament luncheon. The third scholarship recipient, Eileen Villalba, was unable to attend due to her internship with Centura Health.
“All of the scholarship recipients have been my students and I’m so proud! They are all amazing young people and I can’t wait to see the incredible things they accomplish in the future,” said Tow.
Lina will attend Pima Medical Institute to study nursing and Devon plans to go to Denver Metro State University to study business. Eileen is undecided, but will most likely study nursing at Emily Griffith Technical College.
The KidsTek golf tournament is held every June, and our other fundraiser, the annual gala, is held every February.
