This year, KidsTek’s high school course offerings have expanded, and so have our certification opportunities. Every KidsTek high school student now has access to a variety of certifications that may not only beef up a resume or help with a college application, but also speak to the incredible skills our students have gained.
Students in KidsTek’s Business Computing class, offered at Denver’s North and Florence Crittenton High Schools, can earn Microsoft Office Specialist certifications in both Word and Excel as well as the local Better Business Bureau’s LIFT Business Ethics certification. At Hinkley High School and Aurora West College Preparatory Academy, students in Intro to Computing are working towards the IC3 Digital Literacy certification. Additionally, students in the 21st Century Skills class offered exclusively at Florence Crittenton High can even earn a CPR certification as part of this life skills curriculum.
Certifications offer a concrete demonstration of the skills students learn in KidsTek classes. Certiport, a national testing company which administers many of KidsTek’s certification exams, says that certification “gives students and workforce candidates the power to chart their own course, fulfill their ambition, and realize their potential.”
Congrats to all the KidsTek students who attempted and earned certifications this semester!
