Very proud to be celebrating our 8th summer involved in the Aurora Youth 4 Success career exploration camp. AY4S was started by State Senator Nancy Todd and her husband Terry to provide teens with a mid-summer opportunity to explore different career paths. This year’s camp includes classes in 3-D printing, automotive, cosmetology, science & technology, culinary, graphic arts and KidsTek!
KidsTek students are creating resumes and cover letters, learning about business ethics from the BBB Foundation of Denver/Boulder, taking a field trip to FORTRUST Datacenter, and earning a laptop for participating in the camp!
KidsTek instructor Courtney Wade says, “Overall our students are really engaged– by the end of the camp our goal is to have the students leave with a job application portfolio including a resume and cover letter.”
AY4S co-founder Terry Todd says, “It has been our pleasure to have KidsTek be an active part of our program since the beginning. The KidsTek program is a great resource for the high school students that AY4S serves.”
KidsTek’s involvement in the AY4S camp this year is sponsored by the Xcel Energy Foundation.
