KidsTek’s Student of the Month for October is Gavyn Richards from Aurora Hills Middle School. Gavyn is currently taking a virtual KidsTek enrichment class through the COMPASS program in Aurora. KidsTek instructor Max Lewis, has been introducing the students in Gavyn’s class to some fun online activities including creating 3D Models, making music and even a bit of coding.
Gavyn is a curious student who truly thinks outside the box. Not only is he fun to have in class, but he is also respectful and kind to others. Mr. Max said, “I chose Gavyn for Student of the Month because he is bright, engaging and usually has an idea or two that takes one of my activities to the next level. He is also quick to share his findings with others. Rest assured if it’s 3D modeling or computer programming, Gavyn can take digital lemons and turn them into a flood of digital lemonade!”
Gavyn loves finding interesting things to do by watching videos online. He recently has been researching Axolotl (Check it out: Axolotl ) and would love to own one in the future! When Gavyn gets older, he wants to be a robotics engineer. He already has many ideas of things he wants to build, including a space station that would be the first man made thing to go past Mars. KidsTek has been a great class for Gavyn because he is very passionate about technology.
