It’s the heart of summer throughout the Mile High City, and a select group of KidsTek students are enjoying the first annual Swiftie.U (pronounced “Swiftie dot U”) Camp in Downtown Denver at Swiftpage Headquarters. Swiftpage is a leading e-marketing and customer relationship management company, and a longtime supporter of KidsTek. The idea for Swiftie.U came from a desire to provide some of the high school students that KidsTek serves with real-world training in marketing, sales and business management in a fun environment.
With temperatures soaring outside, camp participants are being treated to a cool lunch each day ahead of intensive training sessions facilitated by experts across Swiftpage’s incredible team. Topics ranging from software design and sales to account management and marketing are giving the attendees a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to operate a company like Swiftpage. The students are also utilizing Swiftpage’s leading contact management and e-marketing software, Act!
, to put their new knowledge to work on a mock business concept and marketing campaign.
Recent North High School graduate, Juan Vargas-Murillo, who is participating in the camp before his first week at the University of Colorado Boulder called Swiftie.U “an amazing opportunity.” The camp is building on previous learning from KidsTek classes while also providing what John Oechsle, president and CEO of Swiftpage, describes as an opportunity “to experience what it means to be a Swiftie – have fun and be innovative, entrepreneurial and passionate, while developing useful skills in a real-world corporate setting as they prepare to move into the next phases of their education or employment.”
The camp is doing just that so far as students engage the Swiftie.U content. Swiftpage will be announcing the winners of the Swiftie.U Scholarship money on Friday. Stay tuned to what has already been an amazing week for our kids!
