Gavin is a senior in KidsTek’s Intro to Programming class at Hinkley High School and previously took our Intro to Computer Science class during the fall semester.
In his free time, Gavin likes to game online with friends. “After high school, I want to explore technical opportunities as I love computers,” Gavin said. “My favorite part about being in [KidsTek’s] class is working on computers and learning about them.”
“Gavin is a brilliant, hardworking student who’s always willing to jump into a class discussion,” said Instructor Katy Limes, who teaches the class at Hinkley. “It’s been a pleasure to have him in class!”
The class at Hinkley focuses on a basic computer science overview in the fall, spanning topics such as hardware, software, and the internet. During the current spring semester, students are learning to code using the Python programming language.
“I’m excited to see what Gavin does next! He’s such a bright kid,” said Program Manager Emily Tow. “One of the beautiful things about the tech industry is that folks can build their own paths to success, so I’m excited to see where Gavin’s road takes him.”
