KidsTek’s Student of the Month is Abdoul Nassir Monne from Aurora’s Hinkley High School. Abdoul is a senior currently taking KidsTek’s Intro to Computing course and will continue with us in our Intro to Programming class this spring, but he’s actually been a KidsTek student since middle school!
We first met Abdoul at East Middle School in 2016 when he was in a KidsTek enrichment class through the COMPASS after school program. Abdoul says that his favorite thing about being in KidsTek is that “you learn things, but at the same time they give you opportunities to make sure that it’s easy to understand.”
“I’m glad to have Abdoul back this year (he previously took the class remotely during the pandemic in 2020),” said High School Instructor Katy Limes, “He’s super-friendly and always willing to help other students. I look forward to having him in class in the spring!”
After high school, Abdoul plans to go to college to pursue an entrepreneurial career in technology. Though he’s not quite sure what kind of tech business he wants to start, Abdoul is most interested in coding and AI. He hopes to found a business that eventually makes it onto the New York Stock Exchange, “pretty much just below Elon Musk… but I’m just going to do my own thing.”
