As we reach the end of 2021, KidsTek students and staff are looking forward to the new year and gearing up for college application season. To help students at Denver’s North High School figure out their post-high school plans, KidsTek is happy to again partner with students from the Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder.
For the fifth year in a row, KidsTek students at North will have the opportunity to work with sophomores from Leeds to augment KidsTek’s college-readiness curriculum and explore different options for continuing their education. The CU Boulder students visit KidsTek’s class at North and talk to our students about a variety of college-readiness topics like choosing a school, financial aid, and more. The partnership culminates with the college students hosting the KidsTek class for a field trip to the CU campus.
“In 2020, we could only do a virtual field trip for obvious reasons, so it’s very exciting that we’ll be able to visit CU Boulder in person again this year,” said KidsTek Senior Instructor Emily Tow. “I love working with each new group of Boulder students because they all bring something new to the experience for our students.”
This year’s CU students, sophomores Andersen Dodge, Kaela Gero, Shayna Kliger, Charlie Wells, and Jackson Klein, had their first visit to North in December and will be returning in January for their next visit. We look forward to working with them in the new year!
