Areizy is an 11th grader at Florence Crittenton High School and is currently taking KidsTek’s Life Skills class. In this class, students use tech tools and skills to engage with important life skills such as managing personal finances and taxes, finding housing, exploring education after high school, and more.
“Areizy is such a fun, outgoing person and great fun to have in class. She always asks insightful questions when we’re going through a lesson and I know she’s used a lot of what she’s learned in real life already,” said Senior Instructor Emily Tow.
In addition to the life skills and tech curriculum, Tow also focuses Friday classes on Social-Emotional Learning using a curriculum from ASSET and by teaching “non-tech life skills” such as crocheting and other crafts. Areizy says this is one of her favorite parts about being in the class, though she also enjoyed learning about things like housing.
When Areizy isn’t in school, she likes to go out with her friends. After high school, she plans to study to become an aesthetician.
