KidsTek would like to introduce our newest team member!
Kaleena Kovach is our new instructor at North High School teaching Business Computing. Kaleena has a background in youth development and creative writing and her experience will be valuable to our students.
Kaleena majored in English at UC Boulder and is originally from Colorado Springs. She says, “I love the mountains and hiking in the Springs, but moved to Denver to live in a place that is a bit more lively, where things stay open later than 9 pm.”
When asked why she wants to work in nonprofits Kaleena responded, “I want to make a difference, in whatever small or large ways that I can. I want to impact the lives of youth, and grow in the process. Nonprofit work is a journey, a challenge in which I am always striving to be better.”
Kaleena’s favorite part about working with students is “The kids fill me with energy every day. They surprise me with their insights and humor; they make me proud to be their teacher.” She adds, “I love connecting with people and hearing their stories, I love coming up with creative solutions to problems, and sharing myself with others.”
In her free time Kaleena enjoys walking her cat (yes, on a leash,) playing the ukulele, listening to podcasts, knitting and cooking with her fiancée.
