Andrew Bissland
Andrew has been managing daily operations at KidsTek for the past four years. He leads a team of instructors teaching after school technology classes in both the Denver Public Schools and Aurora Public Schools districts.
He has over fifteen years of experience working to improve the lives of children and families in underprivileged communities. He has managed several programs for children and teens in Colorado Springs and Denver. He has served two terms as an AmeriCorps*VISTA; one in Michigan with an adult literacy program in 1994, and more recently in 2005 managing a group of VISTAs that implemented service-learning programs in schools throughout Colorado.
Andrew has a B.A. in Mass Communications and a B.S. in Secondary Education from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Beth Maxwell
Beth has a history of working with human service organizations, both domestic and abroad. After high school, she spent a year in Brazil as a 5th year senior with the Rotary Youth Exchange, volunteering with children living with AIDS. Beth returned to the States to earn her undergraduate degree in Management and International Business. And, after receiving her degree, Beth joined the Peace Corps and worked in Benin, West Africa. There, she taught fundamental business practices to local business owners and helped start-up companies through business consulting. Beth has experience volunteering with Rotary International, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Growing Home, a local program serving the homeless. Beth's role at KidsTek is to help guide and support the instructional team and to serve as a liaison to our host program sites.
Steve Kessler
Steve performs a number of functions for KidsTek-- he teaches teens at Central High School in Aurora, substitute teaches at other sites as needed, and has been instrumental in garnering donations of time, money and equipment from the local community. Steve grew up in Los Angeles and received his B.A. in Speech Communications from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He has taught a variety of topics in both classroom and informal settings for different age groups. Currently, Steve teaches religious school and owns a computer consulting company. He was awarded the 2006 Chidush award that recognizes local educators who creatively design and execute innovative Jewish educational experiences and share them with the community.
Andrew Hoyle
Andrew recently graduated CU-Boulder with an undergraduate degree in instrumental music education with a business minor. In addition to his student teaching experiences over the past four years, he has taught English and mathematics in Ghana and Trinidad & Tobago while assisting the nonprofit organization Arts Education International with its performing arts curriculum. Andrew is a private music tutor, and works for KidsTek after school at the Cole Arts and Science Academy, and Manual High School in Denver, where he teaches a computer elective course.
Yasamin Holland
Yasamin was raised in Hornell, New York, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from George Mason University. For the past three years, she has taught at Southwestern Academy, an international boarding school in northern Arizona. At Southwestern, Yasamin taught studio art, U.S. history, world cultures, and developed a fashion design curriculum. She was voted "best female teacher” by her students. Yasamin has also lived in Barcelona, where she received her CELTA certification to teach English as a second language. When she isn’t teaching, Yasamin is a fashion designer, fine artist, dog lover, yoga enthusiast and writer. She teaches for KidsTek at North and West Middle schools in Aurora.
Meghan Stebbins
Meghan teaches for KidsTek at South and East Middle Schools in Aurora. She earned a B.A in English from Colorado College, and then went on to complete the school’s Teacher Education Program. Meghan has volunteered with several elementary after school programs, including those with an emphasis on art and environmental science. She has also taught both middle and high school English classes. Meghan is originally from Connecticut.
Erik Nava
Erik Nava is a recent transplant from San Francisco. He is an electronic musician who has come into his own by turning computer music programming into an art form, and travels around the world performing his compositions. He owns and operates his own digital music label, Kid Without Radio, which has a strong emphasis on media and graphic art. He has also worked in digital marketing and public relations for San Francisco-based companies Totem Pole PR and IODA (Independent Online Distribution Alliance,) a digital music distribution company. Erik works for KidsTek in Aurora teaching after school classes at Sable Elementary School and West Middle School.
