KidsTek helped kick off the second annual Tech Internship Accelerator event this past Friday, a partnership between the Colorado Technology Association and Denver Public School’s Career Connect program. During the summer months, Career Connect helps Denver high school students gain real-world experience in technology through different internships. To get the morning started, KidsTek Program Specialist Kristina Calvert got the students up and moving with icebreakers. After the students were a bit more comfortable with each other, KidsTek Instructor Emily Tow taught students how to create their own LinkedIn profiles. Emily says, “LinkedIn is an important tool for growing your career no matter what stage you’re in. These students should be learning how to make technology work for them.” KidsTek is happy to be able to teach more young adults about the importance of their online presence. We wish this group of students the best of luck in their summer internship adventures!
